Nominating for the HOTY Awards

The culmination of the model horse showing calendar within the Club is the AIMHC High-Point Horse of the Year awards. At the end of each year, members are invited to nominate their most successful show models.

Nomination forms can be requested from the HOTY Coordinator, or downloaded from the Club`s newsgroup, forum or website. A link will also be added here when the awards are opened. Nominations open 1st December, and close 31st January the following year.

Rules

  • Members must be current financial AIMHC members, and models must be registered with the AIMHC. (Registration numbers are to be submitted with entries). Nominations may be returned if an owner`s membership has expired.
  • Nominations close 31st January.
  • The club year runs from 1st January through to 31st December. Only shows from the past immediate year may be counted.
  • A maximum of twenty (20) models can be nominated per member. There are no nomination fees - just submit your points.
  • Nominations must be submitted on the HOTY nomination form for the correct year. Email the HOTY coordinator for a copy if you need it.
  • Only members who have been showing with AIMHC for two years or less are eligible for the Newbie Award. See `Definitions` on this page for Newbie and Junior explanations.
  • Points from AIMHC Standard photo shows are counted as double points. Points from all other shows are single points.
  • Points from live shows MUST be kept separate from points earned at photo shows, as a separate award is offered for the Live Show HOTY. Live points do count towards each model`s overall total points.
  • Only shows advertised in the AIMHC newsletter can be used for the HOTY, regardless of show type (i.e. online, overseas mail in, live etc).
  • The AIMHC Standardised Points System is the only points system recognised for these awards. If a model has won awards other than those listed in the Standardised Points System, please list these separately and the HOTY Co-ordinator will work out what Standardised points correspond.

Full results are published in the March AIMHC newsletter of the following year, along with a special feature on the winners. They are also listed on the website; you can see the winners of previous years` here.
